About BeadPatternKit

Turning a picture into a bead pattern usually means a desktop program, an account, or counting squares by hand. BeadPatternKit puts the common jobs on simple web pages: make a pattern from a photo, design one from scratch, work out how many beads and boards a project needs, and print a grid at an exact size.

How it works

Every tool is a static web page. Your browser reads the picture, reduces it to a limited palette and draws the pattern with JavaScript. The picture is not sent to a server, so we never see it. The pages keep working if you go offline after they have loaded.

What we focus on

• Patterns you can build — a numbered colour list, bead counts, finished size and a printable chart come with every pattern.
• Honest colours — the colour list uses a general palette, not a brand’s exact colour chart. Check the swatches against your own beads before you buy a large amount.
• Plain explanations — the guides cover bead sizes, ironing, choosing colours and cross stitch fabric counts.
• Simplicity — one job per page, sensible defaults, no accounts.

How the site is funded

BeadPatternKit is independent and free to use. It is funded by advertising shown on the pages, which is why you may see ads next to the tools. We do not sell data and we do not ask you to register. The privacy policy describes the cookies and advertising technology involved, and the terms set out what you can expect from the service.

BeadPatternKit is not affiliated with or endorsed by any bead or craft brand. Perler, Hama, Artkal and other names are trademarks of their owners and are used only to describe compatible products.

A note on accuracy

Screens show colours differently from real beads, and beads melt a little when ironed. Patterns, counts and sizes are good estimates for planning, not guarantees. Allow some spare beads and test a small piece first.
