Frequently asked questions
Are my pictures uploaded anywhere?
No. The picture is processed by JavaScript in your browser and never sent to a server. Nothing you load or draw is stored, so it is gone when you close or reload the page. The privacy policy explains what the page itself loads, such as ads.
How do I turn a photo into a bead pattern?
Open the bead pattern generator, drop in a picture, choose how many beads wide the pattern should be and how many colours to use. The guide How to turn a photo into a bead pattern walks through the settings step by step.
Will the colours match my Perler, Hama or Artkal beads?
Not exactly. The colour list uses a general palette, so you may need to substitute the closest colour from your own stock or from the brand’s chart. Treat the codes as a guide and check the swatch against your beads before you buy a large amount.
How many beads do I need for a pattern?
The pattern shows the exact count for each colour. To plan a purchase from a size alone, use the bead calculator, which also adds a spare allowance and works out bags and boards.
What size is a standard pegboard?
The common large square board for midi (5 mm) beads is 29 × 29 beads, about 14.5 cm wide. Mini and maxi beads use different boards. Fuse bead sizes and pegboards explained covers the details.
Is BeadPatternKit free?
Yes. The site is supported by advertising, which keeps every tool free without registration.
